Means of transportation and communication are called lifelines of Indian economies for the following reasons:

i. Raw materials:- It brings the raw materials to the industries and transport the manufactured goods to the market.
ii. Linked between producer and consumer: it establishes a link between the producer and the consumer.
iii. Importance in trade:- It is essential for trade and flourishing trade.
iv. Role in integration:- it plays a very important role in national integration. India is well connected from North to South and east to West through roads, railways, and airports.
v. Tourism:- tourism also depends upon roads, railways & airport.
