Fossils are the remains of living organisms that existed n the distant past. These fossils found in sedimentary rocks because these rocks are actually areas where water used to be present. These rocks used to be sediments accumulated by moving water. As time goes by, the sediments form thick layers, compressing the bottommost layers, causing it to harden and form rocks.
