A major number of peninsular rivers drain in the Bay of Bengal.Ganges, Godavari,Mahanadi,Krishna and many other river and their tributaries drain in the Bay of Bengal.

The direction of the river flow is the main reason behind the the river submergence in the ocean.

The peninsular folds and the slopes divert these rivers to the Bay of Bengal, that's why most of the peninsular rivers drain into the Bay of Bengal.
