- Electroplating is a process that uses an electric current to reduce dissolved metal cations so that they form a thin coherent metal coating on an electrode.
- Chromium is preferred for electroplating because it's inexpensive, easy to coat, decorative and increases surface hardness.

● Why rims of cycle tyres coated with chromium.
