Why are there different sized granules on sun?

in addition to the solar granules, we see a Sunspot. Sunspots are dark regions visible in the outer layer (photosphere) of the Sun, that are cooler than their surroundings and possess strong magnetic fields.

The granules are of different size on sun to make sure that the light coming through the sun will be better wavelength !
