Why are there mn 2+ compounds more stable than fe 2+ towards oxidation to their +3 state?

Manganese can take all oxidation states from 0 to +7 but it is mostly found or most stable in +2 ,+4,+6,+7
So it does not go to +3 in most cases it rathers oxidises to a higher oxidation state.
