Why are there no trees in the desert region

Because the land of desert region is not fertilite as land of Punjab or other country. And the land of desert region cannot be irrigated due to sand as we try to will get the land of desert region irrigated then the sand will absorb the whole water.

Answer:This is because of the extreme climatic conditions. Moreover in desert there is sandy soil which cannot hold water required for the growth of plants  

If we talk about colds desert there also the climate conditions are favourable for the growth of plants. Only the plants which need less water and have the capability to adapt and bear the extreme climatic conditions survive in deserts
