why are trees refered as lungs of earth

The trees are lungs of the earth because our lungs also purify the air which we take.It means it taken Oxygen and releases the Carbondioxide.
Just as this the trees also makes the air purify.

THE TREES ARE REFERRED AS LUNGS OF EARTH BECAUSE AS WE KNOW THAT WE NEED OXYGEN TO BREATHE AND THE OXYGEN IS PROVIDED TO US WITH THE HELP OF TREES.

THUS, TREES PROVIDE US WITH OXYGEN THEY R CALLED LUNGS OF EARTH
