a certain prism is found to produce a minimum deviation of 51° 0 while it produces deviation of 62° 48 for two values of angel of incidence namely 40° 42 and 82° 6. determine refractive angle of prism, angel of incidence for minimum deviation and reflective index of prism

Answer:

For the same deviation i and  e are exchangeable

So for δ=44∘,i=42∘$  and  e=62∘

So A = i+e-δ = 60∘

δmin=38∘

i=e at min deviation

So, δmin=2i−A=>38=2i−60

⟹i=49∘
