Anything we can’t predict is a danger.

You must be thinking, Tsunami is so big (100ft), then why we can’t detect it before it hits the coast. the reason is its origin.

Tsunami doesn't consist of moving water but it is the movement of energy through water. For normal ocean wave, this energy comes from wind. But for Tsunami, It comes from underwater activities like a volcanic eruption, submarine landslide or Earthquake on the ocean floor. these releases a massive amount of energy into the water. This energy displaces the water above the normal sea level. This energy moves towards the coast with a speed of around 5000 miles per hours.

When Tsunami is far from the shore, it is barely detectable, since it moves entirely underwater. But as it reaches shallow water (coast), there is less water to move through. the massive amount of energy is compressed. and the giant Tsunami appears. which almost vanishes everything in its path.

Scientists are working on early detection of Tsunami by monitoring underwater pressure and seismic activities

But When mother nature is angry, all our technologies, power is nothing.

We can’t stop this destructive natural force, but what we can do is to plant a tree and take care of it.
