We know vector is a vehicle which is responsible for carrying foreign DNA into a host cell. Basically vector is a DNA molecule termed as a vehicle, eg : plasmid, Cosmid etc. And a vector that contains foreign DNA is termed as recombinant dna. Hence, vectors are needed for DNA replication during rDNA technology.
