why are villi present in the intestine not in stomach?

Because absorption takes place in intestine not in stomach . Villi is used for absorption. Only digestion takes place in stomach.

Villi, a finger like projection in small intestine plays a vital role in absorption of nutrients.Small intestine uses villi to increase the surface area which can help in better absorption.But villi is not present in stomach as absorption is not the function of stomach.
