It is easier to sip hot tea or milk faster from a saucer rather than from a cup because of evaporation . ... And evaporation causes cooling. So if the surface area is more rate of evaporation is faster and so is the cooling rate. Hence we are able to sip hot tea or milk faster from a saucer rather than from a cup.
