why are we advised not to use water to put out fire caused by electric wires

Water is conductive in nature and hence the electricity in the equipment could reach the extinguisher (the person dousing the fire using water) and can electrocute him/her.

cause. Water is a polar molecule and can conduct electricity . If we try to put of the fire caused by electric Wire the current in wire may pass through water and that can cause a big accident - The people beside it in contact of water may get an electric shock....
