ummm

Explanation:

Taking a spoonful of crushed coal is a Hillbilly treatment for many digestive disorders. There are many Appalachian cures my family embraced, this was not one of them. Our pigs would eat coal. Everyone burned coal in southern Ohio when I was young. Small lumps of coal were everywhere in the driveway where they were swept out of the truck or spilled. The pigs would hunt for them and eat them. They could crunch them up and eat them quickly and would consume perhaps a couple pints worth at a time. It did not kill them, they were perfectly healthy. Our pigs never seemed to have much problems with internal worms, that could be why they ate coal. Perhaps the pigs are smarter than we are and know something we do not about nutrition… pigs however love junk food like Twinkies… how smart can they be. That stuff is killing us.

Chickens also ate coal; of course, they also ate rocks and pebbles. All of that would come out like fine sand in the chicken manure.

I cannot believe a little coal would hurt you, my great grandmaw might even say you had to take some once in a while for good constitution. She would say that if I did not drink sassafras tea I would get spring fever. I did drink sassafras tea and it worked… I never did get spring fever.
