why are wires made of metals and not of nonmetals

Wires are made of metals because they are good conductor of electricity whereas non-metals are not a conductor of electricity (except graphite).

Since, Only metal pooses property of conductivity, which means only metal contains the property to allow electricity to pass through it.. Not non -metals.(except in some case).
So,Wires are made of metal..
