The Space Shuttle program was expensive to operate, and maintaining the twenty-plus year old Orbiters was getting more costly. The Space Shuttle was essential for completing the ISS, but would not be helpful for the new program (called Constellation) that would take us out of low Earth orbit.

Answer:
There isn't just 1 answer for this.
Explanation:
1. We don't need them. In the 60s-70s the manned missions were only famous in USSR and USA. It was a post war era and Capitalists and Communists both wanted to prove their economic structure better than the other.
2. Due a space debris net around the Earth. (Though it's not a huge problem yet.)
3. And a number of political, economical and social factors also play a role. But still the biggest point is that we simply don't need them.
If manned missions would be crucial, the world wouldn't even care about feasibility and just do it.
