Answer,

If no space left between two object then it enclose less surface area, and if space left between two object and goes waste it enclose more area.

Example,

  • Like an apple,it is in circle or oval.Between two apples space is left and the space goes waste.

  • While between two dices no space is left or waste. So,it doesn't waste any space and take less surface area.

Why consumer goods are not packaged in cube shaped boxes?

A cube-shaped box, with its smaller area facing the consumer, might not be as eye-catching as a rectangular box. Some foods, because of their particular shapes, require rectangular packages. Spaghetti and lasagna noodles, for example, would have to be cut short to fit into a one-pound, cube-shaped box.
