Ashoka is considered as one of the greatest rulers of ancient India because he was so powerful king at that time that he did ashvmev yagy to conquer rest of india. After he won he left his throne and became one of the most popular buddhist monk. To show his power at the time of his rule he made many signs and symbols which are used now also.
