Why atmosphere of earth is composed of more nitrogen that is 78 percent

Most plant released nitrogen at photo synthetics

Nitrogen is very stable in the atmosphere and it is not envolved into a great extent in chemical reactions occur there. Thus, over geological time has built up in the atmosphere to a much greater extent than oxygen.
