Why atomic no. is considered as a better criterion than atomic weight for study of classification of elements???? better answer will mark as a brainliest

The atomic number determines the element. Atomic number = amount of protons. Amount of protons = element. Also, the larger the number, the larger the mass, so there really isn't much pf a difference, except there's a pattern with atomic number and not so much with mass.

1.Every element has a different atomic number in whole no.
2.we don't have to deal isotopes of elements
Isotopes are elements which have different atomic no. But same atomic mass ..
Thus chlorine exist as two isotopes
C 35 and C37 thus we calculate average mass … but atomic no is 17
Thus atomic no. Is better
And hence periodic table is meant to explain all phicycal and chemical properties seperately according to elements
