Why ATP is known as energy currency of the cell?

ATP(Adenosine Triphosphate) is the site where the whole Photosynthetic Energy is Transformed into Chemical energy and is used by the Plant. Without this phenomenon, Plant cannot directly use Chemical energy to intake the nutrients.
