The traits acquired during the lifetime of an individual are not inherited because the changes occur in the non-reproductive cells of an organism are not capable of being passed on the next generation

Traits are inherited during a lifetime cannot be inherited in the successive generation as the changes do not reflect in the DNA of the germ cells. For example, a cricket player cannot pass on his skills on to his next generation as the traits acquired during his lifetime are limited only to non-reproductive cells.
