These form rings due to sp2 hybridisation. As there are no electrons within themolecule so to speak, the shapes of themolecule is planar. sp2 hybridization of all carbon atoms i.e six carbon atoms inbenzene makes it to be planar hexagonal shape.

Why benzene molecule is planar?
◀️◀️ ANSWER ▶️▶️
in benzene molecules carbon atom has 3 sigma bond and 1 pie bond
it shows sp2 hybridisation
which have 120 ° bond angel
where each carbon atom show trigonal planarity.
hence benzene molecule is planar.
