BeSO4 is soluble in water. This is because the ion-ion bond is weaker and it has an electrovalent bond.Compounds with electrovalent bond are soluble in water.

On the other hand,CaSO4 is insoluble in water. This is because the ion-ion bond is stronger and it has a covalent bond.Compounds with covalent bond are insoluble in water.

Hope it helps...................

your way of asking the question is wrong

BeSO4 and CaSO4 are both soluble in water.

Explanation:

check the photo

CaSO4 is insoluble because different ionic compounds are soluble in different polar solvents.

so it is not true to say all covalent compounds are soluble in water(polar Solvent)

instead they may be soluble in acids.

like Calcium carbonate.(CaCO3).

it is insoluble in water.

but soluble in HCl(Hydrochloric acid).

thank you.
