In the disperssion of light ;

blue is the colour which has less wavelength so it scatters more

red is the colour which has more wavelength (which is 1.8 times larger than blue) so it reaches our eye first

I.e, we see reddish sun morning and evening

the formation rainbow is due to the water droplets in atmosphere in which refraction occurs later due to that refraction disperssion of rainbow occurs.

The sky appears to be blue , sun appears to be redish in morning and evening, and formation of rainbow all of them are based on atmospheric refration.

1. Blue light is scattered in all directions by the tiny molecules of air in Earth's atmosphere. Blue is scattered more than other colors because it travels as shorter as blue colour has shorter wavelength. This is why we see sky in blue colour.

2.Redish sun in morning and evening.

sun appears to be red at the time of morning and evening because at that time sun is present at horizon and that distance is longest distance so, the light which has longer wavelength and which scatter least is appears to the eye. thus sun appears redish at that time.

3.Formation of rainbow

Rainbow is natural spectrum which is formed due to atmosphere refration and internal reflection .

for formation of rainbow we require rainshower in sunny day. the water droplets present in the mirror act as prism and splits wide beam of light into seven colours. hence rainbow get formed.
