Bryophytes are informal group consisting of three division of non vascular land plants (embryophytes ) the liverworts, hornworts and mosses.

Embryophytes is a mojor grouping of plants and sometimes it is called '' land plants''both the non vascular such as( bryophytes) liverworts, mosses and hornworts and the vascular land plants which are those that are so familiar with their vascular system and their true roots, leaves and stem for example ferns, flowering plants, conifers and even ginkgos.
