You might try this ... The balloon with air filled in it. Has lot of air pressure as compared to atmosphere air is made up of tiny particles called as atoms ..so when you try to needle it the pressure suddenly tried to become normal as the atmospheric pressure so the molecules go fast with random speed hitting each other .. Hence this creates vibrations in the air molecules or you can say kinda disturbance .. What we call as sound waves ..
