Why calcium metal after reaction with water starts floating on its surface

We all know that the reaction of calcium with water is led Violent. So d heat released is not sufficient for hydrogen to catch fire. Bubbles of hydrogen are formed which sticks to d metal surface and hence calcium floats on water.
