why can ccl4 not be hydrolysed?

carbon is small
it has no d orbital so ccl4 cannot be hydrolysed

CCl4 chemical name -Carbon tetrachloride cannot be hydrolysed beacuse of stearic hindrance.

Carbon is overcrowded by four heavy chloride atoms so it cannot be attacked by any reagent hence cannot be hydrolysed.
