Dust particles were at rest on the carpet. However when you beat the carpet, you are forcing the dust to move along with the carpet. Due to the dust having inertia, it doesn't move, or rather, it resists motion. This is why dust comes out of a carpet when it is beaten with a stick.

Hope it helps u mark as brainliest please

Dust be removed by shaking it, or beating it by a carpet because it follows law of inertia , particles are at rest so they are at rest only when carpet is beaten hence they are removed.
