Liquid can flow easily while a solid cannot this is because the atoms of liquid are loosely packed and there intermolecular force of attraction is not so strong but solid particles of atom are very tightly packed and have strong force of intermolecular this is the reason solid do not flow but liquid get flow easily

solids:They are held tightly together by strong forces of attraction. They are held in fixed positions but they do vibrate. Because the particles don't move, solids have a definite shape and volume, and can't flow.

LIQUIDS - This means that liquid particles are further apart and can move about more easily. Since the particles can move, the liquid can flow and take the shape of its container. ... This is because the forces of attraction between the water particles pull the particles at the surface together.

particles are already packed closely together, solids can't easily be compressed.
