- For a metal to react with some specific salt, it must be more reactive than cation of the salt.
- But, when metal is treated with its own salt reactivity of both metal and cation from salt (same metal) is equal.
- Therefore, metals can't react with its own salt.
For example,
Cu + CuSO4 ---> NO REACTION
