Well the cardiac muscles don't come under the smooth muscles because the cardiac muscles are involuntary, even though the smooth muscles are also involuntary. But yet we don't call it as smooth muscles because The cardiac muscles are mainly found in the heart, we all know that heart is connected with a lot's of nerves which means that the heart is an involuntary organ. Therefore it is not know as the smooth muscle. The function of the cardiac muscles and the smooth muscles are also different so they are not called so.
