The tissues in complex organisms cannot regenerate a new individual as they are highly differentiated to perform specialized functions. For example, human skin cannot regenerate into a new individualas it is a highly differentiated tissue performing a designed function.

because in complex organisms different kinds of tissues and organs are found in the organism so a specific organ system is used for reproduction but in spite of that regeneration occurs in organisms having cellular level of organisation.eg regeneration occurs in unicellular organism called palanaria but it can not happen in multicellular organisms
