why can't fires caused by liquid fuel be controlled by spraying water??

because the liquid fuel start floating on water

Answer:

fire caused by liquid fuels cannot be extinguished by spraying water because fuels are oils and are less denser than water which will make it rise above water and as a result fire will spread to larger areas.
