freshwater fish cannot survive in saltwater and marine fishes do not survive in freshwater because they are adapted themselves to live in so.

Freshwater fishes are adapted to live in freshwater (Which is hypotonic) and it excretes diluted urine.
Marine fishes are adapted to live in Salt water(Hypertonic) and it excretes concentrated urine.
if both are interchanged it will cause problems such as
•Osmularity won't be maintained
•Urination Problems
•Eventually dies due to sudden change in external environment.
