Why can't H2O be written as OH2??

because metals and electroposotive are written first and non metal and electronegative after it

According to the IUPAC system of naming, in chemistry the more electropositive part is written to the left and the more electronegative to the right.(e.g. NaCl instead of ClNa for salt)
