Why can’t people just stop sacrificing goats and other animals for celebrating their festivals and pledge for a violence-free Bakr-Eid and Muharram?

Most of the people of our country are uneducated and are narrow minded. Thus tradition has been carried on since ancient times and it's very difficult to ban it everywhere at a same time. As they are uneducated they think not performing this may put them under god's curse and all those believes
