The molecules of solids are packed tightly without any intermolecular spaces, and then the solids are compressible in nature because of the intermolecular spaces within the compound or substances (i.e. spaces between its molecules), matter is compressible.

Intermolecular spaces of gases are very large, so the gases are mostly compressible. Because it has very small intermolecular spaces, so, the solids are least compressible substances, which aren’t enough to allow compression visibly.
