Why can’t we see any of the Bison today in the Prairies while there were millions of them roaming a few hundred years ago?

Because bisons are hunted almost to the extinction of the 19th century.Less than 100 remained in the wild by the late 1880s.They are hunted mostly for skins and tongues.
