Actually the surface of white sheet of paper is not smooth. So , when light ray incident on it, it reflected back at different angles.
This multiple reflection scatters the reflecting rays of the image and so we lost the image.

When we stand in front of a plane mirror, we cannot see our image on paper. Because the reflected rays seem to be coming from inside the mirror which we cannot take an image on white paper. Backside of the mirror is coated with silver or aluminum which don't allow the rays pass through them.
