Why can't we walk without friction

Newtons third law says that every action has an equal and opposite reaction............when you walk you push the ground with your foot backwards....the friction force pushes you forward with the same force......if there was no friction then you will keep on moving your legs on the same spot without going anywhere...    Hope it helps Mark me as brainliest Thanks..
