Zn(S)+CuSO4(Aq) = Cu+ZnSO4

above reaction will happen as per reactivity series,

our case same metal cant replace the same metal of metal salt because of same reactivity.

Explanation:

Each metal does not react to its own salt because then there will be no displacement. As it is known that according to reactivity, more reactive element displaces the less reactive element.

For example,  ZnCl_{2}(aq) + 2Na(s) \rightarrow 2NaCl(s) + Zn^{2+}(aq)

In this reaction, sodium being more reactive than zinc displaces Zn. But when we react sodium chloride with sodium then there will be no displacement and hence, the reaction will not occur.
