It is true that without the presence of nucleus, the survival of any cell is not possible.

The nucleus has the DNA which is the genetic material and this is necessary for controlling all the works of the cell.

So, if DNA is not present then there will be no any agent to control the functioning of the cell, and therefore, the cell will eventually die.
