Because Carbon makes the Covalents bonds....but the other elements not....

Since the bonds between the carbon and its carbon atoms are covalent they are very stable because they do not dissociate to form ions and they are least reactive towards other compounds.
Carbon is a unique non metal which combines and is the most abundant in nature. Hence because of its tetravalency ,catanation property and isomerism it's bonds are stronger.
