Why carbon dioxide is know as a pollution?

rays of sun are reflected by the earth back to space. this helps in temperature regulation. but when the amount of carbon dioxide is higher in the atmosphere,it traps the reflected heat rays which increases the temperature and thus causing global warming. besides we need clean air to breath for our survival.
