Why ccl4 is insoluble in water while salt is soluble?

CCl4 is insoluble in water because it is non polar whereas water is polar. Polar substances are soluble in polar substances and nonpolar in nonpolar. Polar molecules: H2O and ammonia with unbalanced polar bonds in the molecule.

because they are present in the form of crystal which can't dissolve in it.
