Why diffusio-n process is not sufficient to provide raw material to the plant?

》》Diffusion may not able to meet all the transportation requirements of the plants because as the absorbed materials move up the plants , their concentration lessens .
》》For diffusion to take place, materials have to move frommtheur region of higher concentration time region of lower concentration .
》》This cannot take place in all parts of plant cells as some cells would require input of energy to transport material against the concentration gradient.
