Why cellulose don't give iodine test

This give cellulose to be a straight polymer therefore, it can't coil aroundiodine to produce blue color as starchdoes. To approximately 2 cm³ of starch solution two drops ofiodine/potassium iodide solution were added. ... Starch is only slightly soluble in water, but the test works well in a suspension or as a solid....!!!!
